About Dr. Hepner
Dr Hepner has 20 years experience in Clinical Neuropsychology and research in the behavioural and neurosciences. She holds endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology with the Psychology Board of Australia and has operated her own private practice for the past 12 years.
Dr Hepner has expertise in the neuropsychological assessment of adults across a range of neurological, medical and psychiatric conditions (e.g., neurodegenerative disease/dementia, traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, brain tumour, ADHD, depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, substance abuse). Her interests include acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative disease/dementia and cognitive rehabilitation.
In the medicolegal arena, Dr Hepner has extensive experience in the provision of written and oral evidence in the Supreme, District and Local Courts. She has provided expert opinion in relation to matters involving personal injury, medical negligence, income protection, fitness for duty, TPD, decision making capacity (e.g., testamentary capacity, financial affairs, capacity to appoint/revoke a guardian or POA) and in the criminal jurisdiction. In 2015, Dr Hepner completed postgraduate legal studies at the University of Sydney in areas of Health Law, Criminology and Expert Evidence. She has completed training in the Assessment of Permanent Impairment and is an authorised health practitioner with SIRA.
Dr Hepner worked as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in the public health system for 14 years, with positions at the Neuropsychiatric Institute, Prince of Wales Hospital, the Cognitive Disorders Clinic and Stroke Service, Westmead Hospital and the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Liverpool Hospital. She also delivered lectures in Neuropsychological Assessment, testing, cognitive disorders and cognitive rehabilitation at the University of Western Sydney.
